Please contact support to set the security settings for allowing access
We recommend looking to the bottom of the guide for your bank type to ensure it is compatible.
Before you begin the steps, please first confirm the last date you have uploaded statement entries for. You will need to know this. You can check this through Reconcile statements - unposted and posted entries.
To Begin, go to Accounts tab and select "Bank Accounts" - then click onto the Actions button to the right hand side of the account which you wish to link to open banking, like so:
This will open the following window:
1. Click Connect - it will then confirm that you are now being directed to your bank. You can then follow the instructions to log in to your banking, give your permission and enter the access code displayed on the screen. Once you enter the code into the online banking site, you can return to the instructions window as requested.
When you have successfully given permission to True Layer, it will clearly confirm this.
Once stage 1 is complete you will be redirected back to the system screen where you will click the following:
You will be asked to confirm your account and from which point in time to import statements from. This ensures you only add entries which apply to transactions from the date you wish you to upload for, not prior to.
Please ensure you select the correct account.
You can now view your entries in Reconcile Statements which is located to the left hand ladder.
Please note that Standing Orders won't automatically link to the person's profile as the reference on a bank statement does not match to what we are sent from the bank via Open Banking.
How True Layer works when connected for open banking:
TrueLayer supported banks:
- Bank of Scotland
- First Direct
- HSBC Business
- M&S Bank
- Ulster Bank
Challenger Banks with fewer options compared to the above:
- Natwest Bankline - this is an "account aggregation service" and will not allow you to connect to open banking without first arranging so with Natwest directly. Please contact them and let them know you wish to use open banking and they shall assist.
- HSBCnet - please contact your bank to be granted open banking access prior to connecting through the system.
