Stay Compliant 24/7 - Because Your Customer Could Be Sanctioned at Any Time!
New OFSI regulations came into force on May 14, 2025, making ongoing sanctions checks essential! That's why AgentOS has launched an integrated OFSI (Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation) monitoring service that provides automated checks every 24 hours against all sanctioned individuals and entities.
Why 24-Hour Monitoring Matters
One-off checks leave you exposed. Someone who's clear today could be sanctioned tomorrow. Traditional AML checks create dangerous gaps in your compliance because they only capture a snapshot in time.
Real success story: Our 24-hour monitoring recently caught a 100% match sanctioned company hiding behind a tenant's name - a breach that would have been missed by standard one-off checking, potentially saving our client from OFSI fines of up to £1 million.
Complete "OFSI in a Box" Solution
This new service provides automated peace of mind by:
- Continuous 24-hour monitoring vs risky one-off checks that are time-consuming, create gaps, and get skipped when busy

- Less than a penny per day for complete peace of mind

How to Access OFSI Monitoring
Check Your Sanctions Monitoring Dashboard
Head to the accounts tab and select the Calmony Sanctions Monitoring icon
This dashboard shows the automatic monitoring of all people on your agentOS account against the sanctions register, providing you with a comprehensive view of potential matches.
It's then up to you, based on these fuzzy matched results, whether you would like to carry out an AML check against a person
Understanding Fuzzy Matches
What is a fuzzy match?
A fuzzy match uses algorithms to analyse similarities between your client data and the sanctions list, assigning a "fuzzy score" to indicate the likelihood of a match. Instead of requiring an exact match to flag someone as a potential risk, it allows for variations and potential errors.
Why is it essential?
Sanctions screening involves comparing names and entities against large lists, which may contain misspellings, aliases, or different translations of the same name. Fuzzy matching helps to identify potential matches that might be missed by strict exact matching. This ensures the reduced risk of overlooking individuals or entities subject to sanctions.
Example:
A name like "John Citizen" might be a fuzzy match for "Jon Citizen" on a sanctions list.
Review Individual Client Matches
Head to the persons profile on agentOS > on their Overview page you will find the UK Sanctions Check widget > select the View Match Details button to see their results.
The pop-up screen will then highlight the match details against that individual
Taking Action on Potential Matches
Performing AML Checks
When you identify a potential sanctions match, you can perform an AML check either:
- Via the Calmony Sanctions Monitoring list, or
- Via the individual's profile on agentOS
When you click the Perform AML Check button the following screen will appear:
Here you can specify which check type you would like to issue, as well as the email template you would like to send out with the check.

New Revenue Opportunity: Compliance Fees
Turn compliance into revenue-neutral costs: Many of our clients are introducing a new 'compliance fee' to cover OFSI monitoring expenses, ensuring regulatory requirements don't impact profitability while maintaining complete compliance.
Risk Without 24-Hour Monitoring
Without continuous monitoring, you risk:
- OFSI fines up to £1 million per sanctions breach
- Compliance gaps during busy periods when manual checks get skipped
- Missing sanctions updates between periodic manual checks
- Reputational damage from facilitating sanctioned transactions
Remember: A one-off AML check cannot fully protect you - only 24-hour monitoring provides complete coverage against sanctions risk.
