Signable is fantastic in the way that you can legally electronically sign an agreement, but there is a limitation as the signature section must be generic.
This means that rather than defining each signature box i.e.
Signed by the Tenant(s) Dated:
____________________________ ____________________________
____________________________ ____________________________
Signed by the Landlord(s) Dated:
____________________________ ____________________________
The signature section would look like the below and add a signature box for each person linked to the tenancy (i.e. all tenant’s, landlord’s and guarantors in applicable):
| Name: | Signature: | Date: |
To enable Signable to cycle through each person linked to the tenancy you will need to insert some tags, these tags are classed as place holders for where each person will insert their name, sign the document and date it.
These tags must always be contained within a table and a separate cell for each tag.
(Please download the attachment at the end of this guide for an example. If you would like, you can copy the entire table from the example file and paste this into your tenancy agreement)
Please insert the following tag for the signer to enter their name:
The [[ElectronicSignatures.Count]] part of the tag is how the signees will be counted.
{text:signer[[ElectronicSignatures.Count]]:Your+Name}
Please insert the following tag to enable the signer to add a signature:
The [[ElectronicSignatures.Count]] part of the tag is how the signees will be counted.
{signature:signer[[ElectronicSignatures.Count]]:Sign+Here}
Please insert the following tag for the signer to enter the date of the signing:
The [[ElectronicSignatures.Count]] part of the tag is how the signees will be counted.
{date:signer[[ElectronicSignatures.Count]]:Date+Here}
Once you have either created a table and inserted these tags or copied the table from the example file, you will now need to make the tags a font colour of white. This is to hide the tags and allow the signature boxes to appear blank.
Once you have done this save the document and upload to your system.
For assistance on how to upload a new or existing agreement please see our relevant guides.
